This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom The Gospel of John \u2013 42 \u2013 Our Weakness...His Strength \u2013 Daily Wisdom Putnam Church Message \u2013 01/08/2023 The Gospel of John \u2013 Part 5: Vindication Of The Word \u2013 Our Weakness\u2026His Strength \xa0 Last week, we continued in our series of messages of the Good News according to John the Apostle, and we looked at the \u201cReactions to the Resurrected Lord.\u201d The question we finished with is, what is my reaction to the resurrected Lord? Now that the disciples are convinced that Jesus rose from the dead, today we see the struggle they faced with this new reality, which is quite different from their Messiah establishing His kingdom immediately on earth. Our scripture for today is John 21:1-23, starting on page 1687 in the Pew Bible. \xa0Jesus and the Miraculous Catch of Fish 21\xa0Afterward, Jesus appeared again to his disciples,\xa0by the Sea of Galilee.[a]\xa0It happened this way:\xa02\xa0Simon Peter, Thomas\xa0(also known as Didymus[b]), Nathanael\xa0from Cana in Galilee,\xa0the sons of Zebedee,\xa0and two other disciples were together.\xa03\xa0\u201cI\u2019m going out to fish,\u201d Simon Peter told them, and they said, \u201cWe\u2019ll go with you.\u201d So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. 4\xa0Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. 5\xa0He called out to them,\xa0\u201cFriends, haven\u2019t you any fish?\u201d \u201cNo,\u201d they answered. 6\xa0He said,\xa0\u201cThrow your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.\u201d\xa0When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. 7\xa0Then the disciple whom Jesus loved\xa0said to Peter, \u201cIt is the Lord!\u201d As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, \u201cIt is the Lord,\u201d he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water.\xa08\xa0The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.[c]\xa09\xa0When they landed, they saw a fire\xa0of burning coals there with fish on it,\xa0and some bread. 10\xa0Jesus said to them,\xa0\u201cBring some of the fish you have just caught.\u201d\xa011\xa0So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many, the net was not torn.\xa012\xa0Jesus said to them,\xa0\u201cCome and have breakfast.\u201d\xa0None of the disciples dared ask...
