Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2072 of our Trek. Establishing good habits is imperative for living a Godly life and one habit I have practiced nearly every day for the past 45+ years of my adult life is to read the chapter in the book of Proverbs that corresponds to the day of the month. This single habit has been the catalyst for gaining wisdom and creating a living legacy. Adopting this habit can do the same for your life. The realization that God\u2019s Wisdom is the only true wisdom drives me to seek God\u2019s wisdom each day, and there is no better way to do this than to meditate on God\u2019s book of Wisdom. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Today I will read Proverbs 1.
The Book of Proverbs - Chapter 1
1\xa0These are the proverbs of Solomon, David\u2019s son, king of Israel.

2\xa0Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline,
to help them understand the insights of the wise.
3\xa0Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives,
to help them do what is right, just, and fair.
4\xa0These proverbs will give insight to the simple,
knowledge and discernment to the young.

5\xa0Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser.
Let those with understanding receive guidance
6\xa0by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables,
the words of the wise and their riddles.

7\xa0Fear of the\xa0Lord\xa0is the foundation of true knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

A Father\u2019s Exhortation: Acquire Wisdom

8\xa0My child,[a]\xa0listen when your father corrects you.
Don\u2019t neglect your mother\u2019s instruction.
9\xa0What you learn from them will crown you with grace
and be a chain of honor around your neck.

10\xa0My child, if sinners entice you,
turn your back on them!
11\xa0They may say, \u201cCome and join us.
Let\u2019s hide and kill someone!
Just for fun, let\u2019s ambush the innocent!
12\xa0Let\u2019s swallow them alive, like the grave[b];
let\u2019s swallow them whole, like those who go down to the pit of death.
13\xa0Think of the great things we\u2019ll get!
We\u2019ll fill our houses with all the stuff we take.
14\xa0Come, throw in your lot with us;
we\u2019ll all share the loot.\u201d
