Today\u2019s quote is from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and it is: All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance, and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.
Labor That Has Dignity And Importance


There is no such thing as a meaningless job. If the work you do to earn a living is not illegal or immoral, it brings value to society. Therefore, one job should not be looked on as more important or unique because for society to function well and efficiently, everyone has to do their job well. If the garbage worker or the sewer plant manager fails to do their job well, we can have a real mess in our lives. Even more so than many rich and famous persons such as movie stars or entertainers of all sorts. Some jobs or positions may pay more due to training, or society deems those positions worth more like professional sports players, but that in no way implies that those jobs are valuable to the community or you personally. As Christ-followers, we are valuable in God\u2019s eyes regardless of our position. We do for a living to provide for ourselves while we fulfill our greater calling, which is to build God\u2019s kingdom on earth. Therefore, work hard, work well, and work to bring honor and glory to God.

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
