The Past, Present, and Future


Our outlook on life will determine our level of joy and peace. We all have decisions in our past that we may decide differently based on our current wisdom and knowledge, but we can\u2019t change the past, making us who we are today. Nothing is gained by regretting the past. Instead, accept the past and use it as an instructor to make wiser decisions today and in the future. We can handle the present with confidence knowing that we are wiser and more knowledgeable today than in the past. The decision and choices we are making today will add to our wisdom and knowledge, allowing us to face the future with boldness. We can use this courage to march into the future without fear. God, our creator, has everything in His control, so there is no reason to fear. He has created us to be His imagers, and as such, we can confidently move through each day without fear. Even if we fail and make unwise choices, we can continue forward, knowing God is with us.

This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don\u2019t be ashamed of me, either, even though I\u2019m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News.
