Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1868 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Joe Torre, and it is: A winner is somebody who goes out there every day and exhausts himself trying to get something accomplished.
The Exhausted Winner

It is not easy to win at anything in life unless you are willing to put in the effort to succeed. Effort or exertion results in weariness, possibly to the point of exhaustion. To accomplish anything worthwhile, you must consistently pursue your goals and ambitions. Consistency means going out day after day and powering through, even when you don’t feel like it and even when you don’t see much progress. On most days, by the end of the day, I am either emotionally or physically exhausted, some days both. That is ok, though, because it gives me a sense of satisfaction that I not only accomplished much, but I have also impacted the lives of others. That impact may not be immediate or even significant, but mountains are moved one stone at a time. I have a lifetime to accomplish God’s purpose for me. I make sure that I take care of myself spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically so that I am prepared for each new day. By preparing properly, I know that my exhaustion will serve a greater purpose while still maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Don’t wear yourself out by destroying yourself, be smart and balanced. If you retain these practices, being an exhausted winner will be worth the effort.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs+23%3A4-5andversion=NLT (Proverbs 23:4-5)
Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich.
Be wise enough to know when to quit.
In the blink of an eye wealth disappears,
for it will sprout wings
and fly away like an eagle.
