Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1805 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Zig Ziglar, and it is: A new broom sweeps clean, but an old broom knows where the dirt is.
An Old Broom

It’s not always a good idea to get new everything, and sometimes experience is one of the best things to have. For example, a new broom has no experience in sweeping the floor. (pretend these brooms sweep by themselves.) it has to go over the entire floor to ensure all the dirt is found. On the other hand, the old broom knows where all the dirt, dust, grime usually accumulates. It knows what needs to be swept instead of going over the entire floor every time it works, so it is faster because of experience.

Another example is a business situation. New management may impose radical changes, but management with prior experience has more knowledge and implements changes more slowly and methodically. Again, there are suitable applications for both situations. Sometimes the problem requires a clean sweep, but more often than not, the knowledge that comes from experience cannot be replaced, no matter how talented or brilliant the person is. God can use us in either situation. So if you are a new broom or an old broom, sweep to your best ability.

“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and sweep the entire house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she will call in her friends and neighbors and say, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost coin.’ In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.”

As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of ‘Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.’
