If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let\\u2019s jump right in with today\\u2019s nugget:

Today\\u2019s quote is from Soren Kierkegaard, and it is: A man prayed, and at first, he thought that prayer was talking. But he became more and more quiet until, in the end, he realized that prayer is listening
Prayer Is Listening


So often, when we pray, we are so focused on telling God what we desire we miss that God is also communicating with us through His indwelling Holy Spirit. As part of prayer, it would do each of us a world of good if we would pause from our ceaseless ramblings and allow God to speak to us through prayer and His Word. A time for reflective meditation should become part of the process. Just as with breathing, it takes both breathing in and breathing out for you to live. So it should be with prayer. As we pray for ourselves and others, we need to breathe our prayers out, followed by breathing in of God\\u2019s presence. Prayer is not a one-way street where we do all the talking, and God just listens. It is a dialog, and as with most dialogs, it will be much richer the more we remain silent and just listen.

\\u201cWhen you pray, don\\u2019t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

\\u201cWhen you pray, don\\u2019t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Don\\u2019t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! Pray like this:

Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us today the food we need,
and forgive us our sins,
as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
And don\\u2019t let us yield to temptation,
but rescue us from the evil one.

\\u201cIf you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.
