Welcome to Day 1602 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomWaiting to Grow Up – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. Our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on our trek to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! Today is Day 1602 of our Trek, and it’s time for another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Sue Monk Kidd, and it is: When you’re waiting, you’re not doing nothing. You’re doing the most important something there is. You’re allowing your soul to grow up. If you can’t be still and wait, you can’t become what God created you to be.
Waiting to Grow Up
Most of us struggle with waiting for just about anything. We don’t like waiting at stoplights, in slow traffic, or even check-out counters while shopping. We are most impatient. We want everything now, including drive-through fast food, banking, and streaming on-demand video. Even for Granny and myself, if a website or program takes too long to load, we get frustrated. I suspect most of you are the same way.
We must realize, as difficult as it is, to be patient. When we are waiting, we are not doing nothing. Which means you are doing something while waiting. You are learning that patience is a virtue, although one that is difficult to understand. You are allowing yourself to mature and grow up. Growing in patience displays that you are gaining wisdom and understanding. You are learning that delays and waiting are helpful and necessary. We do not need everything now. Those individuals who are willing to wait are the ones who will succeed in every area of life. It would be best if you put off what you desire now, for what you desire most. To fully mature as an imager of God, we need to be still and wait so that we can grow up and faithfully build God’s kingdom each day. Waiting allows us to become what God created destined us to be.

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
