The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.\n\nIn today\u2019s Wisdom Nugget, I will guide you through the vast landscapes of biblical wisdom. Today, we\u2019re continuing our journey through the book of Ecclesiastes. We\u2019ll be exploring Ecclesiastes 7:1-14 from the New Living Translation.\n\nEcclesiastes 7:1-14 (NLT):\n\n1 A good reputation is more valuable than costly perfume. And the day you die is better than the day you are born.\n\n2 Better to spend your time at funerals than at parties. After all, everyone dies\u2014so the living should take this to heart.\n\n3 Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us.\n\n4 A wise person thinks a lot about death, while a fool thinks only about having a good time.\n\n5 Better to be criticized by a wise person than to be praised by a fool.\n\n6 A fool\u2019s laughter is quickly gone, like thorns crackling in a fire. This also is meaningless.\n\n7 Extortion turns wise people into fools, and bribes corrupt the heart.\n\n8 Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride.\n\n9 Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool.\n\n10 Don\u2019t long for \u201cthe good old days.\u201d This is not wise.\n\n11 Wisdom is even better when you have money. Both are a benefit as you go through life.\n\n12 Wisdom and money can get you almost anything, but only wisdom can save your life.\n\n13 Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked?\n\n14 Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life.\n\nValue of a Good Reputation:\n\nSolomon begins by emphasizing the value of a good reputation.
