Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant (Matthew 25)

Published: Nov. 14, 2020, 4 a.m.

This podcast is for Sunday, November 15. The Bible text is Matthew 25:14-30.
Today's message addresses the fundamental question: Why are we here?
An excerpt from today's podcast:
"What we do today, how we spend our time, where I invest my energy and resources, are all stewardship questions. How we raise our kids, the ways we participate in community life, and whether we recycle, these are also stewardship questions. The very first command God gave to Eve and Adam was to be fruitful and multiply, to fill the earth and take care of it. Jesus’ last instructions to his followers was to be stewards of the Gospel: Go, make disciples of all nations…and lo, I am with you always, Jesus says.

God trusts us. God is generous. When we steward God’s gifts with generosity and trust, with joy and confidence, we participate in what God is doing and we become more like Jesus! Stewardship is blessing, not a burden. God’s gifts are meant to be spread out and shared, not hidden and protected. And God’s gifts are potent, powerful, effective, resilient. "
