Dearly Beloved, Rev. Brenda Satrum

Published: Aug. 7, 2020, 6 p.m.

This week Rev. Brenda Satrum shares a message about the joys and struggles of marriage.

To practice at home and away:

You/your marriage is a gift: Say early and often, "Wow! God gave me you."

Your marriage/relationship is a choice: The cup/quaich conversation.

- Choose a cup (or Celtic quaich) and a place to put it as an invitation to talk.

- Find a time that's free of interruption and with good energy.

- Read and pray Colossians 3:1-17 or another awesome passage.

- In the Spirit of Christ, lean in and listen, speak, and do your work.

- If you need further help, talk to wise friends, a pastor, or a counselor.

- Drink to your peace with a beverage that's a treat for you both.

Your marriage/way of life is a container to grow in: The cross.

Display a cross that invites you to see your life and relationships as a movement in relation to receive the love of God and to share love with others as Christ did and does.

Bio:

Pastor Brenda is a native of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where her family still farms hazelnuts. She was raised in the steady love of the Lutheran tradition and gladly dove deep when  she married Doug and followed him to seminary. She and pastor Doug Peterson enjoy their two grown kids, both flown and out-of-state, their fluffy Aussie dog, good food, peaks and passes, and living over Shelton's Oakland bay.
