S01E18 - Movies from TV

Published: May 6, 2018, 11 a.m.

This week, four movies made from TV shows. We start with tour de force The Untouchables (1987), written by David Mamet, directed by Brian De Palma, music by Ennio Morricone. Then Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones square off in The Fugitive (1993); a high-stakes chase that grinds to a slow end. Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu are strong independent women in skimpy outfits in Charlie’s Angels (2000). Generation-subverting, meta-breaking bro-fest 21 Jump Street (2012) puts thirty-somethings Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum back into high school. Also: Joe does every accent going in 1930’s Chicago. We guess what the porn remake of The Untouchables would be. Joe refuses to fat shame a baby. The Stath punches a shark. I’ll have the McG please. Dee explains Jiggle TV. Joe doesn’t want help remembering John Candy’s career. We play a game of “... the Movie!”
