DIVE IN!
- How does the portrayal of David in this chapter (and the last) differ from the way we usually think of him? Does that make him more relatable?
- David again escapes Saul’s murderous attempts several times. What is the story telling us about Saul?
- David’s marriage to Michal has echoes of other marriages in Israel. What do these suggest about the challenges David faces? How is there good news embedded in this story?
- At the end of the chapter, we read that Saul “stripped off his garments”. What does this convey? What New Testament event is foreshadowed at the end of this chapter? Spend some time this week reflecting on Colossians 2:13-15 & Revelation 12.
