DIVE IN QUESTIONS
- “The mass of [people] lead lives of quiet desperation.” Does this describe you? Does it describe people close to you? If so, why? What is it that you or others want that cause this anxiety?
- What kind of king did the crowds want? Are you “seeking the God you want instead of the God who is”? Write out your description of Jesus. Now check with the gospels to find out if your description is accurate.
- Read Ephesians 2:11-16 and Heidelberg Catechism Q/A 106-107. How much of this kind of peace is living in your heart? What kinds of hatred still linger there? What kinds of people can’t you get along with?
- What things have caused your heart to harden towards God? In what ways are you disappointed in him? Ask God to soften your heart and to help you seek him.
