Continuing our underrated live action fairytale theme, we watched 2004's Ella Enchanted starring Anne Hathaway, Hugh Dancy, Minnie Driver and Carey Elwes. This contemporary take on the classic Cinderella tale goes against the norms by not sticking to the traditional story at all and by making Ella a strong female lead. Girl power! This is my personal favourite Cinderella adaption due to the fact that Ella makes her own decisions and ultimately saves Prince Char. We talk about our forever love for Anne Hathaway and how she not only had a huge impact on our childhood, but changed the narrative of young women portrayed in films. We also talk about how this story holds up so well and how the film feels more modern than the most recent Cinderella adaption from 2015, because of the interesting and non-conformist characters. \nWe are not quite done with this theme, so if you enjoy listening and have any suggestions on the next films we choose, email emmareviewsmovies@gmail.com with your suggestions! \n\n\nGuest: Christina Acton
