Today's comments center around the extended reading of Mark's Gospel, with attention to Bartimeus and the "sight" he received when Jesus asked him, "What can I do for you?" We also read the final verses of Job and his journey - both centering on discipleship and the question we might ask of ourselves: What would we ask for if Jesus asked us: "What can I do for you?" In our closing blessing, we answered the lingering interrogative with the charge to once you know what you would ask for -- have the faith to ask.
