Is there a drug that can't be abused? Technically no. Some of the repercussions of that abuse can be better or worse depending on the drug but even caffeine can have serious negative effects if you're not careful. Yet for some reason, many years ago, the government outlawed the use of psychedelics by classifying them as a schedule 1 narcotic. Not only does this mean you can't purchase or even own these chemicals, but it also means no serious clinical research can be done on the effects of these chemicals. What we do know is that despite the government's attempts, these drugs ARE being used to treat a variety of mental illnesses including PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety. It's time the government got out of the way and let the scientific community do its job. We may find that nature has already produced far better natural cures than the pharmaceutical industry ever could. Support the show.
