You Are Alive Text: Ephesians 2:1-10 In the Old Testament there's a story about the Israelites, freshly released from slavery in Egypt, under the leadership of Moses. Having crossed through the Red Sea, they were wandering in the dessert and coming to terms with the cost of their freedom. Now, they would have to find their own food which turned out to be more difficult than they had thought. With hungry bellies they complained, "[In Egypt] we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out in this desert to starve!" Sometimes slavery is easier than freedom. In the same vein, sometimes death is easier than life. On Sunday, we are going to continue to embrace our identity in Christ by looking at the book of Ephesians. Paul tells us that God "made us alive with Christ." Together we are going to see what it means to be alive in Christ. I can't wait to see you then!
