The Family of God

Imagine adopting a school-aged child into your home (for some of us, this isn't too difficult). Think of how that child would change from just another child in the world into an instant member of your family. You would now be the Mom or Dad to this child. And this child would be a brother or sister to all your other children. Granted the child may not instantly feel like part of the family, but regardless, the adoption created an entirely new family for that child. This has obvious implications for the life of a believer. As Pastor Dave discussed last Sunday, when we put our faith in Jesus we become members of the family of God. We are no longer simply aquaintances or friends, but family. This Sunday we unpacked what being a member of this family means.
