Have you ever wished that you could push the pause button on life? The fantastical pace of our lives is something we both love and hate. We love being in motion. We love the sense of accomplishment. Some of us love the rapid changes that occur in our fast-paced society.

But sometimes we hate the pace of our lives. Sometimes we want to stop everything just long enough to catch our breath. And sometimes we want everything around us to stop changing.

You may be surprised to learn that there are times when God wants you to stop changing too. That may sound counter-intuitive for someone who is growing in her relationship with Christ. But occasionally God says to us, “Push pause! Don’t move! Stay right where you are!” This week we wrap up the first half of 1 Corinthians by reminding each other that there are times God wants us to hit the pause button.

Pause long enough to make sure that you are devoted, not divided or distracted.

I. Pause (7:17-28)

II. Pause to make sure you are Undistracted (7:29-31)

III. Pause to make sure you are Undivided (7:32-40)
