After listening to this podcast, you'll definitely want to watch this 2 minute link on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6pX1phIqug&feature=related I love my wife. I'll never forget that summer day in 1994 when I first realized just how much I loved her. I was home from college for the summer. Clorrisa was on a missions trip in the Far East, and I was living in my parents' basement. For the first time in nearly a year, I was apart from her. And, it was as I was sitting in the basement, thinking about how much I loved her, that I realized I couldn't be without her. I would do anything to spend the rest of my life with that woman. I was in love. That woman became my wife and, to this day, when we're apart, my heart aches to be with her again. She's my bride. I tell you this, not to gross you out (sorry kids, I know this is your mom I'm talking about). Anyway, I tell you this for two reasons: 1) Because I want you to know how I feel about my bride. I would do ANYTHING for her. 2) Because I want you to know that Jesus feels similarly about His bride. Did you know that, if you're a believer in Jesus Christ, God views you as "The Bride of Christ"? That's the picture Paul paints for us in Ephesians 5. The church is the Bride of Christ. We often use this passage to talk about how husbands should treat their wives. But in Paul's own words, he's really "...talking about Christ and the church." So this Sunday, I'm delighted to talk about the Bride. Not you're bride, or my bride, but rather the Bride of Christ - The Church! And it's in this passage that we'll conclude our series "Commuter Church." I can't wait to see you there! P. Dave
