My wife will probably laugh in agreement when she reads this, but I must confess, I don't really understand Hollywood romance. The only kinds of romance movies I understand are ones with baseballs in them. And I certainly don't understand ANY movie based on a Nicholas Sparks novel. Ewwy-goey, mushy hollywood LOVE just doesn't come natural to me. I have to work hard to understand it. So when the Bible tells us to "Love the Lord your God....," I don't think its talking about Hollywood love. At WCC, we say we're "Bringing People Together to Live Like Jesus, Love Like Jesus, and Give Like Jesus." But what does it mean to LOVE like Jesus? Exactly how did Jesus love? This Sunday, we cracked open the Gospels and took a look at how Jesus loved others so we, too, could learn something about loving like that.
