Recently, I ran across a website called "I Used to Believe." It's a collection of childhood beliefs. Some of them are pretty funny. One woman wrote: "I used to believe that kidney beans were real kidneys from small animals! I couldn't understand why so many people would eat them with such pleasure!" I think those kinds of stories are funny. We can all relate. We have all had that moment when we realized that our thinking on a given subject was simply untrue. We realized that we had missed the point. In Acts 7, Luke recorded the longest speech in the book of Acts. Stephen, standing in front of the Sanhedrin, retold the story of the Jewish nation. In the end, he wanted to keep them from missing the point. From time to time, we also need to ask ourselves: "Have I missed the point?" This Sunday, I preachd a sermon on a sermon. Together, we made sure we don't miss the point! Pastor Dave
