We knew we\u2019d have mixed feelings about a follow-up to our favorite standalone episode (season 2\u2019s \u201cHydro-Man\u201d is still a masterpiece, y\u2019all). But the beginning of this traumatic two-parter still delivers plenty of decent moments, even while it treads water \u2013 with Mary Jane using her wits to fight back against her abuser, Black Cat\u2019s return (kind of), Peter tearing down both Anna Watson and Hydro-Man himself, and a big homage to The Terminator.

We\u2019re watching Spider-Man: The Animated Series: Season 5, Episode 7: \u201cThe Return of Hydro-Man, Part One\u201d.
