he FBI is investigating an apparent cyberattack on Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, Fox News confirmed Friday. The breach appears to be part of a series of cyberattacks targeting Democratic organizations, including the the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). The investigation was first reported by Reuters, which said that the Justice Department's national security division was investigating whether the cyberattacks threatened national security. Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said Friday that an "analytics data program maintained by the DNC, and used by our campaign and a number of other entities, was accessed as part of the DNC hack." Merrill added that outside cybersecurity experts have found "no evidence" that the campaign's internal systems have been compromised. An FBI statement did not mention the Clinton campaign specifically, but said it was aware of reporting "on cyber intrusions involving multiple political entities, and is working to determine the accuracy, nature and scope of these matters."
