Creation's Groaning

Today we lament. We lament the brokenness of creation. Because we are wealthy, powerful westerners, we often don't know what lament really is, and we tend to avoid it at all costs. Not today. Our key verse is Romans 8:22: "We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time." This sermon won't give you the "feel goods". But in the first week of Lent, perhaps that is OK.
