EDITS: The Steve Jobs quote I was thinking of was something like, "I used to think the media was conspiring to dumb us down, but when I got older, I realized they are giving us exactly what we want." Point being; yes, we're focused on dumb news, but we ask for dumb news because the stuff that's really newsworthy can oft be boring.
