Presented by Sheila Canup, The Sword of the Spirit is part 6 of 7 of the series on the Truth of the Spirit Armor of God. \xa0Ephesians 6:17 says, \u201cAnd take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.\u201d\xa0 During our darkest hours Satan will come to tempt us or torment us and attack us.\xa0 He doesn\u2019t stop.\xa0 He tempts us to question the Father\u2018s will for us and his love for us.\xa0 He looks for every opportunity to lead us to discouragement and depression and despair.\xa0 The lies are overcome by the light of truth in God\u2019s Word and the Sword of the Spirit.\xa0 The Word of God is an offensive weapon that is for close combat. The enemy is not going to stand far off once he gets a toehold on you. \xa0He will be \u201cup close\u201d making you miserable.\xa0 Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Hebrews 4:12\xa0 \u201cIndeed, the word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even between soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart.\u201d\xa0\xa0
