On June 06, 1996 Darlie Routier was sleeping in her living room with her two boys Devon and Damon. During the night, both boys were stabbed to death with a knife that came from the Routier residence. Darlie, had slept through the attacks of her two young sons, and her own attack where she sustained knife wounds. Darlie was later accused of killing both of her sons and staging the crime scene. However, she insisted that the crimes were committed by an intruder who escaped through their garage window. She went to trial for the murder of Damon, and the jury returned a verdict of guilty on February 1, 1997. Two days later she was sentenced to death by lethal injection.
