Twenty two year old Sophie Elliott was ready for a new adventure. She had graduated with a first class honors degree in economics and was getting ready to move to Wellington to start her new job as a graduate analyst at the New Zealand Treasury. But on January 9, 2008 a visitor unexpectedly stopped by her home to give her something. This visitor was her ex-boyfriend Clayton Weatherston, and he didn’t show up to give Sophie a fond farewell gift. He showed up to murder her.
