For our 69th episode we decided to celebrate the 61st anniversary and watch The Bridge on the River Kwai. Directed by David Lean, after settling his differences with a Japanese POW camp commander, a British colonel co-operates to oversee his men’s construction of a railway bridge for their captors – while oblivious to a plan by the Allies to destroy it. With a cast of Jack Hawkins, Alec Guinness, William Holden and Sessue Hayakawa this film went on to win 7 Academy Awards and become a glorified classic and arguably one of the best pieces of cinema ever filmed. Come join us as we discuss this wonderful film.
