Making the Most of Every Space

Published: Dec. 10, 2020, 1:30 p.m.

Hey there! This week, after my tea talk (yellow fruits & hibiscus tea in a book store mug), and life update (time with my dad, holiday activities & Harvard courses), I talk about “making the most of every space”. I introduce this topic with some personal anecdotes, what it means to me, and the structure for this episode. Then, I dive into why I think it appeals so much to me, including movies, wanting to grasp life and feel cool, and admiring those in my life who do make the most of every space. Next, I think about how I can exercise this through group projects, plans with friends, and mentality shifts. I look to the future with the possible results this can have on my life: being more intense, having greater memories, stronger bonds, more confidence, and gratitude for the small things. I share my favourite podcast, online creator, and tik tok side, and read a review before signing off.

TO GET DIRECTLY TO THE CONTENT, SKIP TO 12:15

FOLLOW THE PODCAST’S INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/theasteapodcast?igshid=r04b2760fkdl
CONTACT ME THROUGH: theasteapodcast@gmail.com (for business inquiries, sponsorships or to tell me what you think about this podcast!)
SEND ME A VOICE MESSAGE: https://anchor.fm/th351a-beaury/message
CHECK OUT THE DESIGNERS OF MY COVER ART: https://instagram.com/sofiarrublacreative?igshid=1xtsd1w69zkkl
https://instagram.com/cuerpobaldio?igshid=1jq5cb59nm2z
START YOUR PODCAST NOW BY HEADING TO anchor.fm

CHECK OUT THE THINGS MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE (IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE):
Hakawatii: http://www.hakawati.jo/?lang=en
TOSTAO: https://tostao.com
Exercising Leadership: Foundational Principles (Harvard course): https://online-learning.harvard.edu/course/exercising-leadership-foundational-principles?delta=0
Rhetoric: The Art of Persuasive Writing and Public Speaking (Harvard course): https://online-learning.harvard.edu/course/rhetoric-art-persuasive-writing-and-public-speaking?delta=1
My interview on Words And Beyond (Being Vulnerable): https://open.spotify.com/episode/4qLuCQ3SpVlx4xiqLmOeZ0?si=o7oI3xZKTiCIo56Cd19SkA
Listen to “Romanticize Your Life!” (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/episode/4SzNgCnW36iV1xDAe4U0Um?si=ExvWMtrTTSSzWCduuRC1Dw
Listen to “Feeling Out of Place” (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/episode/3PG6bVKP1oebhEOa37dD9b?si=_-LsF6mqQ960rYpXg55GXA
TOM Medell\xedn: https://www.col.tomglobal.org/blog
Listen to Job Interviews (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/show/2publCpxSe6CZn4AjZSI1r?si=YzNduYEaQTWPkZVCwALphg
Moments where life feels surreal tik toks: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZSsDRaqx/ https://vm.tiktok.com/ZSsAwrRG/
Check out the Better Ideas YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BetterIdeas

HERE ARE SONE QUOTES I LIKED FROM THIS WEEK’S EPISODE:
15:24 = “When you come together for a certain cause, you probably won’t leave just with that experience, but with so much more”
20:00 = “I want to be able to say yes”
24:24 = “Maybe the practical and efficient way is subtracting from all the value that can come from an experience”
25:08 = “My main preoccupation shouldn’t be getting things done as quickly as possible, but just living the experience, being able to gather with these people, and knowing as I went in that it may not be the most efficient way to do things, but my future self would be thankful because I would be gaining life experience and memories”
26:31 = “I need to start making the effort to get together with people”
28:03 = “Not only doing things for the sake of doing them”
28:20 = “If I’m joining something, I should be aware from the start that I’m not only doing it for the goal, but for the whole experience it can entail”
33:15 = “Whenever you’re out in a room (or in a call) with people you can learn so much from them, beyond what you’re specifically gathered to do, and you can make life long friendships with these people you stumble upon where you least expect it”
35:34 = “I want to learn to enjoy people, spaces, and moments”

Thanks for tuning in, have a beautiful week!
