Hey, there! I begin this week’s episode with a tea talk (cinnamon tea in an astronaut mug) and a life update about social service, vacation, and social life. I introduce competitivity with a clarification, anecdote, and structure for the conversation. Then, I talk about how exhausting competitivity can be: placing pressure on output, realising that I can’t be the best at everything, and understanding that I’m part of a team (and I should start thinking like that!). Next, I admit that competitivity is still important: it pushes us to improve, but, it can come with a burden, and it is important to distinguish collective from individual efforts. Afterward, I imagine what it would look like if these two aspects could coexist harmoniously. I wrap up with some takeaways, and weekly favourites in face masks, T-shirts, and groups before signing off.

TO GET DIRECTLY TO THE CONTENT, SKIP TO 9:26

FOLLOW THE PODCAST’S INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/theasteapodcast?igshid=r04b2760fkdl
CONTACT ME THROUGH: theasteapodcast@gmail.com (for business inquiries, sponsorships or to tell me what you think about this podcast!)
SEND ME A VOICE MESSAGE: https://anchor.fm/th351a-beaury/message
CHECK OUT THE DESIGNERS OF MY COVER ART: https://instagram.com/sofiarrublacreative?igshid=1xtsd1w69zkkl
https://instagram.com/cuerpobaldio?igshid=1jq5cb59nm2z
Listen to my other podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/3RhYyCBLVwBuNimne4zVCO?si=AG_LzDsuQdqBYedSmFOkfQ
Follow my TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJwKjr2L/
START YOUR PODCAST NOW BY HEADING TO anchor.fm

CHECK OUT THE THINGS MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE (IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE):
Listen to my episode about not knowing what to do with my life (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/episode/3Z81WAakNrMftxUfpqdpmB?si=FghjHdhBQvyyXILABpD58w&dl_branch=1
Bren\xe9 Brown
Listen to the Perfectionism Project podcast (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/show/5QAsL8roKR67O1GO2LiXvS?si=ULzclph6S8GlaP_yoI6tbw&dl_branch=1
Listen to my episode on validation (on Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/episode/53iy3FZiBtQD14avRiD9R9?si=DUnMMlgzRv2W2iQKL7D5kQ&dl_branch=1
“Listo el pollo”
“Darle la 10”
Desigual

HERE ARE SOME QUOTES I LIKED FROM THIS WEEK’S EPISODE:
19:20 = “How much of what I’m doing is being seen?”
19:40 = “You cannot be the best at everything!”
21:20 = “You can’t compare variables of different nature.”
22:00 = “At the end of the day, this is a group effort. We’re all in this together. We don’t need to be better or worse than each other if we have a common goal.”
23:05 = “At the end of the day, what really matters is the end result. And that isn’t affected if some people had more initiative than others.”
23:20 = “You don’t need to be the star member to be proud of your efforts. The fact that you contributed is enough.”
25:30 = “In a competitive environment you’re always going to be pushing boundaries, going out of you comfort zone and showing up.”
28:45 = “But why would you need to save yourself in a group that has a common goal?”
30:55 = “When you are coming from a healthy place, you don’t feed off of competition”
32:00 = “Nobody’s taking your validation away from you”
32:00 = “You don’t feel drained after one failure and you don’t feel like all your problems are solved after you do one thing well. The reality is, no one situation changes who you are”
33:45 = “Feel comfortable with who you are, but also continue to grow, but not from a place where you feel you are lacking”
34:30 = “You can’t give 100% to everything, because 100% is the total of all you have”

Thanks for tuning in, have a beautiful week!
