The C.O.W.S. w/ Azure Savage: Institutional White Supremacy in Seattle Schools

Published: Dec. 2, 2019, 5:30 a.m.

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Azure Savage. A eighteen-year-old Seattle High School student, Ms. Savage began to closely examine her experience in her White-dominated "advanced" classes. After much study, she wrote the book, You Failed Us: Students of Color Talk Seattle Schools. Savage interviews a myriad of other non-white students about their experience with Racist teachers and classmates. In between, she weaves in her own narrative about being sexually terrorized by male students and ignored and ridiculed by White teachers and peers. Savage speaks honestly about identifying as "transgender" and "queer" as well as her futile efforts seeking White validation. We'll discuss the response to "You Failed Us" and how having a White parent has impacted experiences and views on Racism. #SeattleRacism INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE 564943#
