Paris has always been on the mind of Eugene Crowley since his hometown, St. Joseph, Missouri, was founded by a French fur-trader, Joseph Robidoux.\xa0 For Gene, anything French reminded him of Paris. Before the end of his first decade in St. Joe, Gene \u201csaw\u201d Paris as his father drove down the parkway entrance, flanked on both sides with trees and shrubs, to Krug Park. \xa0\xa0\xa0Gene announced to himself, \u201cThis is Paris.\u201d\xa0 In his first trip to Paris four decades later, Gene became dazzled by the art in the Louvre and experienced a light show that he was the only witness.\xa0 This regeneration of the spirit in the Louvre keeps Gene\u2019s mind on Paris.
