Shortly after a UFO sighting over gate C17 at O’Hare International Airport on November 7, 2006 at about 4:30 p.m., the FAA claimed the witnesses might have confused a “weather phenomenon” for a flying saucer. A group of mechanics at United Airlines thought it might have been a balloon, but weren’t sure. This episode of the New York Post’s The Basement Office reveal the rarely-heard audio of FAA airport radio communications from that day that might shed some light into what was in the skies over O’Hare International Airport on November 7, 2006.

C-17 is still located on the west side of O’Hare International Airport, but the runway configurations have changed significantly since 2006.
