Allison Gaines is a writer, editor, and unapologetic Black scholar pursuing her Ph.D. in Psychology. She's from New Orleans, Louisiana, and writes about race, women, history, politics, and culture. Allison is the co-founder of Writers and Editors of Color (WEOC), and the editor-in-chief of the CULTURED magazine. You can find her bylines in Oprah Daily, ZORA, Momentum, and LEVEL.
