My name is Amarah Evans. I’m on a train to visit Roy Carlston’s Estate. Although he was a man that was not alive, I could feel a close bond between us. Maybe because I could feel his music from my soul.

Roy Carlston sings: Headed to the mountains.

Yes I am headed for the mountains because that’s where Roy use to live. Way out in the mountains, and I needed a break from where I live.

When I got there, I was invited to take a look around Carlston’s house. I was led into a gate and down a concrete driveway. You could see the valley below & a river. Carlston’s house was a big old mansion on a hill. The mansion was beautiful. There was hardwood flooring, a stone fireplace, walk-in closets, & plenty of rooms.

A few miles from Carlston’s estate was a mausoleum. A burial chamber where Carlston was laid to rest. Inside the mausoleum was his tomb. I didn’t want to hang around too much after visiting it. I could hear Carlston calling me.

Roy Carlston: Amarah, what are you doing hear Chile? Stay away from the grave & the darkness. It’s no place for you. Choose life. I know what you come here for. Ain’t nothing to the dark side. It’s just darkness. A big blackout.

I answered Mr. Carlston in mind.

Amarah: Pardon me Mr. Carlston. How do you know why I came? I came to see you.

Carlston: Am I not in the dark and of the dead?

Amarah: I don’t know. I can still hear you. That’s something I can’t explain. You came to me first.

Carlston: (laughing) Go on back down to the city. You have a loving boyfriend that needs you. Do something for the living. There is no work here for you, Chile.

Amarah: I’d rather be in the dark sometimes where there is no one to bother me. What’s dead can’t bother me.

Carlston: But you must live, and you must endure. Your time will come, but it is not now. Don’t argue with me. I’ll be with you. Go back down to the city.

Amarah: Okay Mr. Carlston. I’ll let you rest.
