My writing journey unofficially began in middle school. We had an ELA teacher who required us to write in journals and do several creative writing projects. I started writing a middle grade project but was dissatisfied with the project. I revisited it every year until I realized I needed to wait until I was older. In high school I wrote sad poetry. Writing was my outlet, especially journaling what happened to me. It was a way to understand it better.
Last year in January, my journey officially started. My friend and fellow author, Alaine Greyson told me she wanted to start writing a novel. It had been a dream of hers for years and she just never gave it a chance. I had ignored my writing bug for years at that point and thought it sounded like a perfect idea. We could push each other in writing and who knew, maybe even do something with a completed manuscript.
