News Break \u2013 Alex, Bill, Josh, and Courtney all skip the news this month to discuss their top tv shows of the first half of 2023, including in depth discussions of The Bear, From, Shrinking, The Other Two, Ted Lasso, Demonslayer, and more.

Streaming Wars \u2013 Alex, Josh, and Courtney pick a streamer they think \u201cwon the month\u201d based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. Josh and Courtney agreed that Netflix had the best month after their major Tudum news event, new TV series like Black Mirror S6, The Witcher S3 Part 1, and Queen Charlotte, and new movies such as Extraction 2 and Namona. Meanwhile, Alex makes the case for Hulu after The Bear\u2019s second season launches big, they secure the rights to SXSW favorite Anna Kendrick/Andy Samberg comedy Self Reliance, and they drop trailers for Justified: City of Primeval, What We Do In The Shadows, and Reservation Dog. Ryan Murphy leaving Netflix for Disney is also discussed.

New Series Spotlight \u2013 Alex, Josh, and Courtney review Secret Invasion,Disney Plus\u2019s first MCU series since last fall\u2019s SheHulk, starring Samuel L Jackson as Agent Nick Fury.\xa0

The series, created by Mr. Robot writer Kyle Bradstreet and directed by Ali Selim, follows Fury as he returns to Earth to deal with an emergent threat from the shapeshifting Skrulls. Ben Mendelsohn\u2019s Talos and Don Cheadle\u2019s Rhodey both return, while Academy Award winner Olivia Coleman, Emilia Clarke, and Kingsley Ben-Adir make their MCU debuts to round out the cast.
