Senior Writer Aaron Sarnecky and Senior TV Columnist Josh Sarnecky are back. This month they\u2019re celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Joining them is Anthony Desiato, founder/owner of Flat Squirrel Productions and host of Summoning the Zords.
\nMighty Morphin Power Rangers is the first iteration of Power Rangers, which is based on the Japanese franchise Super Sentai. The first episode aired on Fox Kids on August 28, 1993. The show ran for 145 episodes and ended on November 27, 1995, in the lead up to the Alien Rangers miniseries.
\nThe Power Rangers are a superhero team of \u201cteenagers with attitude.\u201d Together they defend Angel Grove and the world from evil. The initial Rangers are Jason (Austin St. John), Billy (David Yost), Zack (Walter Emanuel Jones), Trini (Thuy Trang), and Kimberly (Amy Jo Johnson). Quickly joining their ranks in Season 1 is Tommy (Jason David Frank).
\nPower Rangers took the world by storm, and new series continue to follow. 2017\u2019s Mighty Morphin reboot movie was a commercial failure, leaving the franchise\u2019s future on the big screen uncertain.
