Anniversary Brothers TV Podcast: Pokemon 25th Anniversary

Aaron and Josh Sarnecky are back for another TV retrospective. This time they\u2019re talking about Pok\xe9mon.

Pok\xe9mon is an anime based on the video game series of the same name.  The show premiered on TV Tokyo on April 1, 1997. In the United States it has bounced around syndication, Kids\u2019 WB, and elsewhere since 1998. The anime is ongoing, airing over 1000 episodes.

The show centers on 10-year-old Pok\xe9mon trainer Ash Ketchum (Veronica Taylor) and his loyal Pikachu (Ikue Ohtani). Joining them in their adventures are their friends Misty (Rachael Lillis) and Brock (Eric Stuart). Ash and company frequently battle the villainous Team Rocket, consisting of Jessie (Rachael Lillis), James (Ted Lewis, Eric Stuart), and Meowth (Nathan Price, Maddie Blaustein).

With games, trading cards, the show, and movies, Pok\xe9mon is one of the largest media franchises in the world and it shows no sign of letting up.

Aaron and Josh talk about their initial exposure to the anime before going into its premiere, \u201cPok\xe9mon, I Choose You!\u201d They then go into the elements that made the animated series work.
