Eddie Aikau is folklore in Hawaii with every generation. Eddie was the first offical lifeguard at Waimea Bay, on Oahu’s North Shore. During his time as a life guard Eddie rescued over 500 people and not one life was lost while Eddie Aikau was lifeguard, he braved waves over 30 feet high. According to legend, this brave, selfless Hawaiian risked his life surfing large waves and actually died attempting to save his crew who were stranded at sea. Our special guest is Eddie’s brother Soloman Aikua.
