The Electoral commission has released its writ for the 2020 election, officially ending the election process.
It reveals a jump in voting numbers across the board - with the biggest increase among 30-to-34 year olds.
Voters aged 18 to 24 rose 18 percent.
18 year old William Wood was National's Palmerston North candidate.
He told Mike Hosking the increase is a sign of the times.
"What we've seen is reflective of the fact that we had an unifying issue. Covid-19 impacted everyone, so people went out and voted."
