Affco is predicting the loss of hundreds of meat processing jobs due to the country's shrinking livestock numbers.\xa0

The industry's forecasting 1 million fewer lambs to be available for processing next season.\xa0

Federated Farmers meat and wool industry group chair Toby Williams told Mike Hosking there's a couple of factors contributing to low lamb numbers.\xa0

\u201cThere\u2019s a slowdown in China who aren\u2019t taking as much sheep meat as they were. We\u2019ve also got Australia \u2013 Australia's slaughtering record numbers of lambs at the moment, so there\u2019s just too much sheep meat in the world.\u201d\xa0
