Treasury has killed plans to include the cost of climate responsibilities on Government books.\xa0
Former Climate Change Minister James Shaw wanted the $23 billion cost included.\xa0
But Treasury says the sum doesn't meet generally accepted accounting methodology.\xa0
Former Finance Minister Steven Joyce told Mike Hosking that including the cost would be purely political.\xa0
He says it's listed on the accounts as a fiscal risk but doesn't need to be quantified at this stage.\xa0
