The Transport Minister's removed requirements for Road Controlling Authorities to implement speed management plans.\xa0
Work will begin to account for economic impacts \u2014like travel times\u2014 and community views, alongside safety when setting speed limits.\xa0
Simeon Brown told Mike Hosking that the changes allow them to re-write the rule, to put a stop to a one size fits all approach.\xa0
He says the requirements effectively meant 30-kilometre limits on urban roads, and 80-kilometres max on State Highways.\xa0
