Shane Reti: New Minister of Health on the changes to the health system
The new Health Minister is vowing not to undertake major structural change to the health system, with the exception of disestablishing the M\u0101ori Health Authority.\xa0
The health system reforms, including the scrapping of the 20 DHBs and replacing them\xa0with Te Whatu Ora, was widely criticised by National in Opposition.\xa0
Shane Reti told Mike Hosking that the sector is tired.\xa0
He says the College of GPs have told him if he makes major changes, they'll fight him, so there'll be a period where they stabilise things and provide a clear direction of travel.\xa0
