Tornado season is off to a wild start in the American Midwest.\xa0

Multiple towns in Iowa have been devastated by storms, the small town of Greenfield basically flattened overnight.\xa0

At least 35 are injured and five dead.\xa0

Across the border in Mexico, a political rally was hit by a freak wind, killing nine and injuring 54 when the stage collapsed.\xa0

US Correspondent Richard Arnold told Mike Hosking that the tornado in Greenfield was travelling speeds of up to 265kph, but in Mexico, they\u2019re barely calling it a storm.\xa0

He said that it\u2019s tragic and bizarre.\xa0
