Principals are pleased inadequate school infrastructure is being addressed in National's education policy.
If elected next month, the party will invest $2 billion in a 'Fix New Zealand Schools Alliance' bringing together builders, educators, architects, and engineers, to fast track school repairs.
John Paul College Principal, Patrick Walsh told Mike Hosking it's good to see funding going towards fixing the backlog of urgent repairs.
"Parents and principals aren't interested in how the issues around leaky and old classrooms are fixed, as long as it is done."
The National Party has signalled a looser approach to school zoning and would let schools grow to accommodate demand.
Patrick Walsh says this will allow parents to have more freedom on where their child goes to school.
"I believe parents have the right to choose which school best suits their child."
